I am co-founder of audEERING and was Chief Information Officer (CIO) until 2023.
We founded audEERING in 2012 as a spin-off of a speech research group at the Technische Universität München (TUM), which was led by Prof. Björn Schuller.
audEERING develops machine learning technology for intelligent audio analysis - for example in order to automatically recognize emotions from speech signals.
We believe that the Alexas of tomorrow will not only recognize speech, but also a speaker's emotion. Reacting on a speaker's emotional and paralinguistic state is the key to make human-machine communication more natural, efficient, and enjoyable.
audEERING's technology is based on the openSMILE software, which we started to develop in 2008 at TUM. Until now, openSMILE has been downloaded more than 500,000 times and was cited in more than 1000 scientific publications.
